Advanced Training – Week 1

Week 1 introduces compass footwork, mirrored combination drills, stomp-based combos, and essential ground recovery. Includes split drop, shoot steps, and flow execution across both leads.

This advanced martial arts training week 1 session includes full mirrored combo execution, low kick integration, split drops, and recovery chains.

Session Breakdown (60 minutes)

  • 0:00–0:10 – Compass + 45° footwork, shuffle compass, mirrored jab/stomp drill
  • 0:10–0:25 – Combo: Jab → Stomp → Jab → Elbow Parry → Cross → Hook → Low Kick
  • 0:25–0:40 – Split drop, pivot, and shoot step drills under pressure cue
  • 0:40–0:55 – Ground chains: sprawl recovery + shrimp to post and strike
  • 0:55–1:00 – Visualisation + mirrored flow reset

Core Combination

  • Jab → Stomp → Jab → Elbow Parry → Cross → Hook → Low Kick
  • 10x slow | 10x flow | 10x speed – each side
  • Include mirrored stance execution

Ground Recovery Drill

  • Sprawl → Base Up → L-Step → Jab → Hook
  • Knee Shield → Shrimp → Post to Stand → Reset to Strike
  • 10 reps total per side

Instructor Focus

  • All drills mirrored (left + right)
  • Use compass cues during movement section
  • Coach split drop and shoot entries into flow
  • Adjust pressure level to student control and range

Key Transitions

  • Compass footwork into combo initiation
  • Combo into low kick → pivot → split drop
  • Ground to strike reset under mirrored rhythm
