Front Stance

Strong forward stance with weight on front leg. Foundation for linear strikes.

Back Stance

Defensive stance with weight shifted back. Ideal for blocks and counters.

L-Step

Step-back-and-out movement used to reset or evade while facing opponent.

Pivot

Rotational step used to realign stance or load for a strike or escape.

Jab

Lead-hand punch for probing, distance control, and setting up combinations.

Hook

Powerful arcing punch targeting the side of the head or ribs. Introduce with caution.

Front Kick

Basic linear kick using ball of the foot. Ideal for all age groups with proper chamber.

Side Kick

Powerful thrust kick using the heel. Teach chamber + sideways stance from age 7.

High Block

Forearm block for incoming high-line strikes. Common from age 5 upward.

Parry

Deflective hand movement for redirecting straight punches. Introduce with partner drills.

Hip Throw

Basic Judo-style throw using hip rotation and lever. Advanced — teach with crash mat and control.

Sprawl

Drop step used to prevent a takedown. Introduce from age 9+ with clear ground control training.

Cover

High guard defence against hooks and overhands. Easily adapted for all striking disciplines.
